Workers With High Earnings?

Every one wants to have higher earnings, I mean how many people out there would refuse a raise in pay?

Research finds that workers with bachelor's degree are more likely to have high earnings than the ones who do not have a bachelor's degree. But the problem is, not everyone can spend 4 years in college, right?

But actually, we can define high earnings in 2 ways and both depend on medians. The first measure of high earnings sets the cutoff at the median for earnings of all workers. The second measure raises the cutoff to the median for earnings of workers with a bachelor's degree.

There are still many workers with no bachelor's degree who earn bigger salaries than the average college graduate. But we have to agree that we can not judge whether a job is googd or not solely from earnings.

With the more and more jons eliminated, especially in manufacturing and telecommunications some people worry that high-salary jobs are no longer available for those with no bachelor's degree. Rising requirements for some professional, managerial, and other jobs have made entry without a degree even harder. An oversupply of college graduates has also altered some less educated workers from high-paying jobs, which have not traditionally required a bachelor's degree.

Many workers without bachelor's degrees have other post secondary education or training. Training other than a bachelor's degree delivers the best preparation for some jobs with high salaries. Workers with more training usually earn more income. Some high wage occupations are difficult to enter without training, and within occupations, the most highly trained workers tend to collect the largest paychecks and have a better chance of advancing into supervisory jobs.

What is good besides earnings

Sure, everyone needs money. Still, hardly anyone chooses an occupation — or a particular job within an occupation - based only on salary. The perfect career recipe for any individual has many ingredients besides money. These include benefits, projected growth and openings, job security, advancement potential and also nature of the work.

Depending on the mix you prefer, a job with lower salary might please you more than any other.

Some benefits, such as health and life insurance or subsidized child care, are as good as cash for most people. Without them, workers would have to pay expenses out of their own savings. Some employers, like airlines, provide free or subsidized travel, while retailers may provide discounts on merchandise. Paid holidays and vacation and sick leave improve quality of life.

Some occupations offer a natural path for career advancement. For instance, an electrician apprentice becomes a journey level electrician and then, perhaps, an electrician supervisor or contractor. Workers in other occupations may need to work their own way to success. Still other occupations or jobs offer few chances for advancement.
